Scott and I really enjoy having people over. We had people over for dinner all the time in Utah... but since moving to Texas it hasn't happened as frequently. I think at BYU there were just SO many young, married couples that it was easier to get together. Last night we had our second guests over for dinner since moving into our house. It was our first time having people over who have kids (a 5 year old girl and baby boy) and it went really well! Our house isn't exactly kid-friendly since we don't have any toys or anything. McKenzie was SUPER well-behaved and even ate the food I made. :)
We had Marci's yummy
Creamy Italian Chicken, with asiago cheese bread and a feta cheese salad.
Here's the table all set to go (these are our first cloth napkins so I had to document the occasion:)

Recently we painted our brass chandelier black to make it look wrought iron (thanks for the idea,
Marci and
Diane!)

Scott's parents gave us their old buffet, and we refinished it and put new hardware on it. Scott's grandma was going to toss the gold mirror above the buffet- but I LOVED it!

Love it! That mirror is heavenly, you are so lucky to have such beautiful items passed down to the both of you.
