These guys were my best friends during the 1st trimester:
Even when I felt really, really sick, they still sounded oh, so good. Sadly, none of them are very good for you or provide many nutrients. I'm thankful for my pre-natal vitamins and that I was able to keep them down! :) I know the pickles are cliche, but they're the only thing I've really craved so far. And on the days I felt the very worst and the thought of tomato soup, wheat thins, or top ramen made me gag, pickles still sounded delicious! It was so weird! Once Scott stopped and bought a big (46 oz. to be exact) new jar on the way home from work, and by the time he came home from work the next day, they were all gone. That was the last jar we bought because I decided it's better to just not keep them in the house. Luckily, I didn't feel that bad every day, and most days felt decent enough for at least the first half of the day to eat some normal food too.Always off the list: chicken (over the last week it's been okay to eat again), sweets (these are okay some days now), hummus, mayo, and mini Babybel cheeses. Just the smell or sight of these made me feel sick. Some of them I got sick right after eating, and some (the sweets and the mayo) I have no clue why I've hated so much.
Usually loved: sushi (cooked of course!), bean burritos from Lupe Tortilla, subs (with steamed meat), and Greek yogurt with blue agave and/or fruit mixed in.
Now that I'm into the 2nd trimester I'm starting to feel a lot better. I hardly get nauseous anymore as long as I keep something in my stomach and I feel like my energy is coming back. And, I'm back on track trying to eat healthy foods again!

You poor girl! Sorry to hear you had such a tough time there! Glad the 1st trimester is passing by! Hang in there! Xoxo!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the list of staples!:) I'm so glad you're feeling better. Pregnancy sickness is the worst.
